Hi all, thanks so much for taking the time to read this. I go on a little so please bare with me.

My name is Leon Culley and I work for a large national charity in Lowestoft. My job is to support students that are now leaving high school who are deemed as 'at most risk' of not going onto further education, employment or training by offering employability workshops and routes into apprenticeships.
The nature of my job means a lot of the students I work with are not likely to recieve the grades they would need to move into an apprenticeship and yet its likely to be one of the only routes likely to be successful for them. I know this because I used to be one of them. The difference these days is the opportunitys simply arnt available and employers are not in a position to take the chances on these kids as they were when I left school.

On top of this, I have several large companies who are keen to support us however due to us living in a rural location, transport would be a huge issue for those kids that could otherwise get involved.

The charity has had an organisation (a name everyone in the country would have heard of) donate a lot of money to them, the deal is it has to be match funded. SO, if you were to donate £100, I would be able to turn that into £200.

As for what I want and what for, well, as much as possible to be honest. Ideally im aiming for a minimum of £2500.
I want to approach companies and offer to fund the apprenticeship in return for them taking a chance and putting the time/effort into training. for every £2500 you dontate, I can match fund and that will cover one student. On top of this I would like to buy some 2nd hand mopeds and put those students through their CBT so they can take advantage of opportunitys available to them that they cant currently access.
If I get enough, I would like to even support one or two through a social enterprise.

I genuinly believe in the cause and the students I work with need all the support they can get. Anything you can offer, big donation or small would mean so much.

Thanks again for your time reading this.

Leon
