Hello Generous Donors, Philanthropists, We specially target the rural school children in low income families who are mostly deprived of a good Education System due to the financial constraints of their parents. Even if there are many talented Students with many abilities they are unable to get educated because of this unsolvable problems.

I started Sri Lanka Rashmi Child Development Foundation after thinking for very long time about the terrible problems faced by our Rural School Children. The Government of Sri Lanka does not seem to pay any particular attention to these needy school children and instead the politicians need to reap much benefits from the financial allocations made for this children. Also there are many irregularities in the existing educational system . School Teachers also need to earn money through the private tuition classes and they pay a very small careless attention to the students at the school who have no money to participate in private tuition classes.

My Name is Wasantha Liyanaarachchi and in my young age I felt a great sympathy towards this poor rural school children who have no particular attention from relevant government authorities. Somedays, they attend the School without the breakfast as their parents are unable to supply it daily because of their poorness.

My sole objective of forming this Sri Lanka Rashmi Child Development Foundation is to support this discriminated innocent children as well as I can. So I informed the relevant authorities of the Ministry of Social Service in Sri Lanka and My Foundation was government approved and registered under Voluntary Services Organization (Registration & Supervision) Act No 31 of 1980 as amended by Act 8 of 1998) . Our Government Registration Number is L-143411..

I started this Foundation in 2011 and we have been running for consecutive 6 years successfully . I was able to provide a great service for this needy school children. In the earlier days we were entirely running on local donations .

I recruited some field officers and collected some local money contributions . I helped those poor school children in many ways. I visited many rural schools and met the Principals. According to them 80% of school children were suffering from poverty. So utilizing our local donations I distributed some stationery items, school bags, school uniforms , school books among the poor school children. I also selected poorest families in many rural villages through the Divisional Secretariat Offices and distributed some dry retail item bag sufficient for one month.

Since that my Sri Lanka Rashmi Child Development Foundation became increasingly popular among the rural schools and rural parents who are unable to provide the necessary facilities to their school children.,

Because of the timely intervention of Sri Lanka Rashmi Child Development Foundation many rural talented School Children could carry on their studies in a more convenient manner and as a satisfactory outcome Doctors, Engineers , Lawyers , Teachers and many other professional citizens have been produced for the society by these rural schools which is a great prestige for us.

We were able to continue this charitable service for many years but due to the prevailing situation in Sri Lanka very small local donations are given and we haven’t had a single cash flow for many months. So it is becoming increasingly challenging for me to keep the programme afloat….

SO WE NEED YOUR HELP. THE INNOCENT RURAL SCHOOL CHILDREN NEED YOUR HELP .

WE ENCOUAGE GENEROUS DONORS AND PHILONTHOPISTS TO KINDLY CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS OUR CHARATABLE SERVICE SO THAT, MANY NEEDY POOR SCHOOL CHILDREN OF LOW INCOME FAMILIES WOULD BE BENEFITED.

The Donations will be utilized to distribute Stationary Items, School Books, School Uniforms among the needy children. Also We shall renovate dilapidated looking School Buildings, School Toilets so that the students could continue their studies in a more and more convenient manner .
