Support Turtle Conservation in Zanzibar

Hi! My name is Camille and I'm a student taking a couple of months off before starting university. During this time, I have chosen to travel and volunteer abroad in different countries, in order to gain new skills and meet new people, all while giving back to the community!

In October, I spent two weeks volunteering in the Maldives, with the Maldives Whale Shark Research Programme. I am now in Tanzania, volunteering at a daycare centre for underprivileged children through IVHQ.

At the start of December, I hope to travel to Zanzibar to participate in a Turtle Conservation project via IVHQ. As an aspiring marine biologist, this project would be an incredible opportunity for me to learn more about marine conservation, learn about the challenges of protecting wild turtles, and gain more first-hand experience in this field. As a volunteer I will spend time helping with a range of conservation tasks, including breeding programs and treatment and rehabilitation of injured turtles, aiming to boost the turtle population near Zanzibar.

All these volunteer projects have come with associated costs. Hence, I have set up this GoFundMe page for anyone who wishes to donate to help me contribute and participate in turtle and marine conservation in Zanzibar.
