Free education is a right of every child and therefore, for those who are economically less privileged, Darul Islam Aided Higher Primary School, took the initiative to provide free education. The hindi Medium School aimed to reach out to as many students as possible and give them access to education.

However, in 2009-2010, the school began to witness a considerable fall in the number of students being admitted. The reason cited by most parents was the great distance at which the school was located and therefore its inaccessibility.

The teaching staff at the school, at this point, decided to make changes to the operations of the school and provide accessibility to a greater number of students. The teachers, including umesh and pooled in money to buy 2 second hand vehicles and turned into drivers for the kids who lived far off. The teachers began to pick up and drop off the students everyday, in order to prevent their school from shutting down and provide free education. The initiative not only improved the condition of accessibility, but also created a unique interest in students in coming to their school. The joyride was in itself a motivation big enough to attract students to the school.

With whatever little amount that the teachers are able to arrange, the vehicles are replaced annually in order to not compromise on the safety of the students. However, this means that the teachers-turned-into-drivers are unable to keep pace with the other accumulating fund requirements. The school building is very old andis in need of immediate repairs. The roof tiles have broken and through which rain waters seeps during rains. It is also scary during heavy winds as the tiles may fall off. The flooring of the school is in dire condition as it is severely cracked. The free school does not have enough resources to churn out substantial funds for the roof and flooring repairs of the school.

Therefore, in their attempt to save the school, and in turn free education, these teachers from westbengal request you to contribute whatever little you can and give wings to the dream of these children.
