Hello there! I’m Sofea from Shah Alam, Malaysia. I started a small independent community Kumandang Zine after I finished high school recently from my tiny bedroom. Kumandang Zine is a platform and space I developed from home to celebrate independent movements in the local scene such as music, art, film, zines, books and publishings. I believe that there are so many great potentials out there that deserves space and support so they can grow bigger and keep the scene alive for many generations to come.

I am planning to organize a mini series of music gigs to help new bands and talents expose their music to the crowd. I want to curate a gig that can give attendees and non-attendees the ULTIMATE experience. Hence why I need a capital to cover the cost of LIVE SOUND RECORDING and LIVE FEED RECORDING. This part of live sound and feed recording is the part that is costly and selling gig tickets will not cover the cost. Since I don’t have my own gig space, I am organizing the gig by renting a venue, backline, sound engineer and crews. That’s where all the profit from ticket sales go, it’s all split accordingly.

I want the gig to not only become a one time live crowd experience. I always believe that if the show can be recorded, it can be placed in various social media platforms where the bands can reach a wider crowd and gain more exposure. Reaching a wider crowd means, I am helping the bands and talents to outreach their talents to the world. Not only that, the live sound recording can also be very beneficial to the bands and talents as it can give them a different outlook and introspect towards their live performance and they can do post-mortem. With this, they can make a betterment for their next gig or show.

What we ask of you is a small donation to support our gig to make this happen and give the bands/talents an opportunity to have a good portfolio via live sound and live feed recording when they perform at my gig. If the fundings are sufficient, I will immediately launch a youtube channel for Kumandang Zine to share all the live recordings of the band to the worldwide audience.

No support is too small, no dream is too big. Thank you and please pray for us!

Below I’ve shared pictures from my debut gig held on the 28th of May 2022 in Ipoh, Perak. This coming 23rd of July 2022, I will be having my second gig and I really hope the donations will reach the target so that the gig will run smoothly and I can appoint a team for the live sound and live feed recording.
