Sanja Jakšić is 29 years old and lives in Dubrovnik, in Croatia. She moved already as a young girl to Dubrovnik, to start a new job and a new life. Sanja lives now alone with her two children, a two year old daughter and a six year old son. She works sometimes two different jobs to take care for her family, especially for her son, a child with neurorisks; so she could pay for his physiotherapy.
In March 2018 Sanja got the bad news: she has cervical cancer.
She had to move from Dubrovnik to Zagreb for chemotherapy, because of that she has to pay two rents; one in Dubrovnik for her children and one in Zagreb. Sanja can't see them every day, because it's a 600 kilometers distance, so her aunt is taking care of the children.
Sanja ended the 5th session of chemotherapy, she started to lose hair and 25 cycles are still waiting. Unfortunately, the chemotherapy and the physiotherapy for her son were very expensive and she spent all her life savings for medical treatments.
„In situations like this, life just stops, but only for you, because life goes on actually…and you have to move on also, like nothing happend. Who will, if not me?‟ , says Sanja.
