Hello you all!
As a contribution to our local community, we as students of the ESB Business School in Reutlingen (Germany), organise a yearly cycling tour to raise funds for two local charitable organizations. The ESB Cycling for Charity Tour started as a small initiative 15 years ago, and has since developed itself into one of the main events of our study programme. The idea of this tour is that a group of 30 students cycles more than 1000km in just under 2 weeks. This years tour will take place from the 31st of March until the 13th of April. Final destination is the International Business Weekend. This is an event where students from 10 different universities, spread all over the world, come together to share an unforgettable experience. We however, believe that this event shouldn’t just be about us students. An unforgettable experience is something we all deserve, and that’s why we’re raising money for these two charitable organizations:
Integramus e.V.: because they believe in a future for everyone, Integramus has committed itself to providing one for underprivileged children. They do this by running a primary school in Mombassa, Kenya and a home for mentally disabled children in Lviv, Ukraine. This organization, based in our home city Reutlingen, needs all the help they can get, so that they can keep their focus on helping these children.
Förderverein für krebskranke Kinder Tübingen e.V.: this organization supports children who suffer from cancer. The university hospital in Tübingen has the best paediatric oncology department in Germany and therefore children from all over the world come here to get treated. During their treatment they need their parents at their side so that they won’t feel lonely. That’s where this charity comes into play. They offer a place to stay for the family members of the sick children during the treatment period, so that they can fully focus on the recovery of their kid. Apart from offering a place to sleep, they also offer psychological support and all other types of therapy for both the children and their families.
Over the last 15 years, these two charities were able to help a lot of children thanks to the money the ESB Cycling for Charity Team has raised for them. To make sure they can continue their great work, we will try to raise even more funds this year. All money we collect will go to the good cause and will be evenly divided over both organizations. So please help us achieve our goal and donate some money to our cause, because isn’t a bright future something we all deserve?
