Support my study at The “Lee Strasberg” Theatre & Film Institute in LA

My name is Boyana Avdjieva and I am a Bulgarian actress. I was recently awarded the Richard Boleslawski "Beyond borders" Scholarship for a full one-year education at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in LA. I was chosen among 200 applicants to be one of the 16 participants in the Lee Strasberg Method Acting Workshop that was held in Sofia, Bulgaria in June-July 2022. The Richard Boleslawski Scholarship is given to an actor who demonstrates great talent and potential, hard work and determination and a commitment to expanding their knowledge and bettering their craft while in attendance at an LSTFI International Workshop. I am the first ever recipient of this specific scholarship and the first Bulgarian actor to ever be awarded a scholarship of any kind to study at the Institute. It is a huge honour and once in a lifetime opportunity for me and my career.

The scholarship, however, covers my tuition and admission fees. The Institute does not provide housing.

In order to live in Los Angeles for a one-year study I will need at least 20, 000 $ for accommodation rent and living costs. I also need to have this sum in full in order to get my student visa approved.

Any help towards raising this sum will get me closer to my lifelong dream and will be greatly appreciated.

I've been acting since I was four years old. I was 17 when I got my first big break on the professional theatre stage in Bulgaria. Ever since then, I've graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in Bulgaria, I've worked at the Satirical Theatre in Sofia and I've participated in numerous musicals, theatre productions and both Bulgarian and foreign films, commercials and TV productions. I've reached a point where I want to level up in my career and I was desperate for an opportunity like this. Having this chance to move to LA and study at the great Lee Strasberg Institute has always been a dream of mine and I am incredibly close to fulfilling it. I will be much closer with your support.

Казвам се Бояна Авджиева и съм актриса, родом от София, България. Наскоро получих стипендия за пълно едногодишно обучение в световноизвестния Институт за театър и кино "Лий Страсбърг" в Лос Анджелис. Бях избрана от 200 кандидати да бъда един от 16-те участници в тазгодишния актьорски уъркшоп, проведен от Института в София през юни-юли 2022г. В края на уъркшопа бе връчена стипендията "Ричард Болеславски", която се дава на актьор, показал високо ниво на талант, умения, качества и амбиция в областта на актьорското майсторство и прилагането на метода на Лий Страсбърг в актьорската си игра, участвайки в интернационален уъркшоп на института. Изключително съм благодарна, че взеха решението да я връчат на мен. Аз съм първият носител на тази конкретна стипендия и съм първият български артист, получил каквато и да е била стипендия за обучение в Института. Това е изключителна чест и повод за гордост за мен и за моите колеги актьори.

Стипендията покрива само таксата за обучение и Институтът не предлага общежитие. Ще ми трябват минимум 20, 000 щ.д. за да се издържам в Лос Анджелис и трябва да разполагам с тази сума, за да може да бъде изготвена и одобрена студентската ми виза.

Занимавам се актьорско майсторство от четири годишна възраст и направих своя дебют на професионалната сцена в България на 17. От тогава досега се дипломирах в НАТФИЗ, специалност актьорство за драматичен театър (клас проф. Атанас Атанасов), бях част от трупата на Старичния театър и съм участвала в редица мюзикъли, театрални постановки, български и чужди филми, реклами и сериали. Достигнах етап, в който имах отчаяна нужда да кача нивото в своята кариера и получих тази рядка възможност да разширя хоризонта си на развитие. Мечтая да стигна до Холивуд и Института на Лий Страсбърг от малка и съм на една крачка от сбъдването на тази мечта. С вашата подкрепа ще съм още по-близо до нейното реализиране.
