Hey guys, I'm Jorge Avelar-Lopez, a junior from Lionel Wilson Prep in Oakland, AZ. I was fortunate to get the opportunity to participate in Catalyst Cornell, a one week free summer residential program at Cornell University. Catalyst Cornell is an organization whose mission is to advance diversity in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math for students from backgrounds critically underrepresented. With Catalyst Cornell, I will not only gain skill sets preparing me for the STEM fields, but I will also learn how to collaborate with students and tackle challenges while building powerful and long lasting relationships. But in order to participate, I must pay a $1000 fee that will include airfare and costs for transportation to Cornell University in New York. I would really love to take part in this opportunity and to gain more invaluable experience. The opportunity would expand my knowledge in STEM and give me real-life experiences to prepare me for my college experience.

Any donations to make this trip possible would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
