Support mums to support IMUK (Independent Midwives UK)

Who am I? - I am a mother of 3 and for a number of reasons I chose an independent midwife to help me during my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies. I am a normal woman who simply wanted choice, and the best for my family, and I was willing to invest in that. Having an independent midwife was one of the best choices I have ever made. I am now a huge advocate of independent midwifery. In fact I now volunteer for the organisation and willingly sending many hours helping them to develop. The one thing I can not do is donate them large amounts of money….I wish I could…..so I am asking for your support. But anyone who sees the value of indenpendant midwifery through IMUK please help us say a big thank you. 

What is IMUK? - IMUK is the membership organisation for independent midwives in the UK. All of the full members work autonomously and support women with the very best evidence-based care and on a one-to-one basis, a model of care proven time and time again to be best for women and their babies.

Why do I want to support IMUK with funding? - All IMUK Board members and those supporting the organisation, website and administration are volunteers and the organisation does not have any regular funding beyond membership fees. In a world of government-defined parameters for health care professionals, that daily adds costs to the running of the organisation.   I want to help IMUK to secure funds to develop processes and structures that meet these parameters allowing IMUK to becomes even more financially stable and sustainable (in the long term).  Also to offer members the ability to seek options for support that do not rely on expensive external providers.  No midwife will benefit individually and IMUK does not make any profits. I will ensure that all funds will be used to ensure the future of independent midwifery. Ensuring that choice for women and their partners is maintained.
