Support Me in my Study Abroad

Hi! The name is Cristy Sevilla from Philippines.

My goal is to obtain a 2-year diploma on a university in Canada. But after some in-depth research and calculations, it will take me less 20 years (en estimate if I have a full-time job) to even just pay for a year. It is so hard for me to accept that I cannot do it alone. I am so desperate and since I really need and want to achieve it, therefore I made this decision to create a campaign.

Some many ask, why just now?

Well, I am one of those group of people who was not able to determine what I really want, and what I want to be. I took up one course and after a year shifted to another. Had a hard time looking for work, but was employed from one organization to another until I decided to work at home due to some financial and personal reasons.

I am already turning 30 and just realize what I really want. I love math and I had the hobby of calculating my income, savings and expenses, and storing receipts. So while I was working with a client in which the job is kind of related to it, I realized it. Thanks to them.

I believe that it is never too late. One has to try and try until he/she achieve his/her dreams. Also, one must love what he/she is doing, in which, one does not see it is a job, but as a hobby.

So there, I am planning to obtain Accounting Technician/Bookkeeping diploma. I was able to find a university that is almost the same tuition fee with the other colleges I have initially selected.

So why study Abroad? Why not in the Philippines or online?

It is one of my dreams to study abroad. But that is not just the reason. I am working online and the language used is English, so not only should I improve my communication skills, but I also want to learn foreign culture and behavior and processes in work to be confident, effective and efficient. In addition to that, I prefer and am comfortable with an on-campus learning, for it has a lot of advantages compared to online (based on experience). Moreover, most online bookkeeping jobs required having an educational background and/or experience. It is a struggle to find jobs, even online, nowadays so adding another skill will really help me so much (since I am working as a data entry assistant).

So, what is the plan?

My plan is to start as early as possible, and though I am really hoping to start as early as Fall 2021. The sooner, the better. Apply through Student Direct Stream (SDS).

I can start if I am able to have the total Amount for Year 1 + half of Year 2. The reasons is that I have to consider the ff.: (1) validity of IELTS certificates and other documents, (2) the tuition fee as per the school's website is partially or fully non-refundable; and (3) the time it will take for me to gather the target amount, for example, if I start having the amount for 1 Year, it is not clear that after 1 year of study, I can pay for the next year's.

Here is the breakdown for 1 year using 1 CAD = 39 PHP (summary and rounded up):

There are fees in withdrawing through the campaign so I am going to adjust the above Overall Total to the nearest thousands + allowance for withdrawal charges + possible increase in some expenses (like IELTS/Tuition Fee). Therefore, it will be 67,000.00 CAD.
