Support Mayan Community during lockdown.

Since the pandemic crisis started the Mayan family is more than ever dependent of their knowledge in agriculture and the food they grow on their lands.

In addition, the tourism industry suddenly collapsed, lots of people lost their jobs in tourism or related to it. The small income stream from jobs outside the village dried up quickly. Traveling stopped and we neither are allowed to host cooking excursions. The lockdown is lasting too long.

Basic needs are becoming an issue now. Basics like: toilet paper, cleaning products, soap, hygienic towels, sugar, coffee, milk, etc are things they cannot buy anymore because there is no money. State aid is insufficient.

Alberto & Karolien from Workshop Mexican Cooking Experiences make a call to everyone who wants to help, friends and visitors that have been to the Yucatan Mayan village to collaborate with a small donation.

PS: We use our Paypal accounts from Belgium, because Mexico doesn't allow Paypal at the moment. All donations will go directly to the Mayan Community. In case we do over our goal, the extra money will go to the children's education.
