The only thing that kept me in Syria was the roof on top of my head. Now it’s gone.” – a witness from Aleppo.

As the lifting of sanctions remains a complex and political process, the emergency response to Syria is being hampered while the international community is piecemealing emergency relief and support to those affected by the colossal tragedy.

Harrowing messages flooded our phones and shattered our hearts by grief-stricken and shocked earthquake survivors — some now homeless — who pleaded for urgent help as they witnessed the lives of their families, friends, and community members crushed under the rubble.

With over 4,500 corpses pulled out, thousands more lives have been changed forever in what has been dubbed “the disaster of the century.”

With more than 4 million civilians in the disaster-stricken areas in Syria already struggling before the earthquake, the current situation is complex and exacerbating rapidly.

In recent years, the situation has only worsened with widespread destruction caused by armed conflict, leading to a significant strain on resources and an increase in the humanitarian crisis.

Today, this deprivation comes against the backdrop of a lethal cholera crisis, already claiming thousands of lives, adding to the massive tragedy caused by the earthquake.

WHAT WE’RE DOING

As a small group of individuals gathered from different walks of life, we have a unique opportunity to provide aid to the people who need it most.

Donations to help those affected by the earthquake in the affected cities in Syria can make a significant impact in their recovery and rebuilding efforts. Here is how donations will help:

1. Emergency relief: immediate assistance to those affected by the earthquake, such as shelter, medical care, and basic needs.

2. House repairs: household supplies and rehabilitation tools for homes damaged during the earthquake.

3. Long-term support: ongoing support to communities as they recover from the disaster, including help with livelihoods and access to basic services such as water and sanitation — especially with rising cholera cases and exposure.

Even though we are aware of the tumultuous hurdle disaster-stricken regions are facing in terms of acquiring aid, we remain firmly committed to supporting those on the ground by ensuring that all donations are used efficiently and effectively.

With your support, we can help these communities get back on their feet and begin the long journey towards recovery.

Your donation, no matter how small, can bring hope to those who have lost everything, and help them on their road to recovery.
