UPDATE:

Hello friends and colleagues!

I was finally discharged from the hospital last night! 😊 I couldn't thank all of you enough for all the efforts, prayers and help that you extended to me. My heart is overflowing with all the love and support that I continuously receiving until now. ♥️

With all of your help, We were able to pay 100k last Tuesday, April 24, 2018 and another 75k c/o DSWD. I still have a hospital balance of 484k. The agreement is that they will discharge me given that I will comply to their payment terms. They've given me a month to apply for a post dated check that I needed to pay for my balance monthly for 2 years.

I will continue my crowd funding site and I will be soon selling my pre-loved clothes and other efforts to support my medical expenses. I still have one operation (stent removal or open surgery) that is due on July or August this year.

Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH! You will surely be blessed! 🙏🏼

------------------------------------------------------------------

I am taking my chances. Besides, there is no harm in trying and believing that God will work His wonders.

Hi everyone!

I am Maria Isabel Lacsam, 29 years old, residing here in the Philippines. I am kindly knocking to your good hearts to help me in this very challenging chapter of my life.

Last March 17, 2018, I was rushed to the Emergency room of Makati Medical Center because of severe abdominal pain. 2 days before that, I was also rushed to the E.R. because of the same severe pain. Doctors said that it was Peptic Ulcer. But the medications was no longer working so I initiated to them to check if the pain has something to do with my gallbladder. The next thing I knew, I was admitted and needed to underwent a laparoscopic cholecystectomy (Gallstones removal) last March 19, 2018. The operation was successful but they found out that I still have a stone in my pancreas that they weren't able to see because it was covered with fats. The next day, March 20, 2018, I underwent another operation which is ERCP and they put a stent inside of me but they weren't able to take out the stone because it's too risky. After my 2 operations, I got hospital acquired pneumonia for a week that made my stay to the hospital longer than expected.

The most unexpected thing happened. I was due to be discharged last April 4, 2018 but my hospital bill skyrocketed to Php 640,000.00. My health card, PCSO, Philhealth and friends donations were already subtracted from it. The hospital won't allow me to be discharged without paying the bill. We asked them for other payment options but the option they gave us is still to impossible for us to comply. They allow us to apply for a promissory note amounting to Php 100,000.00 only payable in one month via post dated check, ask the doctors for promissory notes regarding their professional fees and to pay the remaining balance of Php 422,000.00 on the spot.

My mother and sister is already in contact with the hospital's Credit Department to negotiate the payment options that we can. We already deposited Php 60,000.00 last Sunday from friends help. I'm still here in the hospital's ward and worrying everyday because my bill is still running. I am the bread winner of the family and I can't afford to not work as soon as I finished my recovery.

Thank you for reading until here. I can be reach at 0917 502 2472 or at [email protected] if you have questions or require more information.

I am asking your good heart to please pray for me and if you can possibly extend any medical assistance to help us pay my hospital bill. Any help will do.

God bless you.
