Support Hassan in his effort to clear his name

Hi everyone. For those of you that don't know, earlier this year, Hassan was charged in California for a matter that became quite public. Unable to prove the case further, the district attorney's office was unable to promote it further in news outlets but is still trying to convict him of a single felony count.

Given his demographic and ethnicity, it's not been easy to receive fair and speedy treatment by the established system and the public defender's office has been less than helpful to support and put on a just defense. To add, the recent case of Brock Turner in Palo Alto goes to show how biased and our legal system has become.

Given that we have exhausted all funds to pay for an attorney through a preliminary hearing and by posting bail, after spending 7 months in custody -- he, our family, and friends request your help in this fundraising campaign to retain a new attorney.

We have consulted and would like to retain the law firm of Hartnett, Smith & Paetkau located in Redwood City, California. An agreement has been drafted and we are happy to provide it in support of your donation for attorney and associated fees.

For those of you that know Hassan personally, you understand how charismatic, caring, and devoted he his to helping others and supporting those around him. From tutoring head-start students to visiting orphanages across the world, he has given back to the community. Our family is surprised and devastated by the charge brought forward but we are confident that by hiring the right firm, we will surely beat this. To add, he had surgery on both his legs just weeks prior to the alleged incident making him incapable to do strenuous moving and walking.
