Campaign Story
We
started this campaign to provide funds for the purchase of masks,
ventilators, and other life-saving medical supplies to the Vidin
hospital.
Vidin is the northwest and infamously the poorest region in
Bulgaria and Europe. As of 2018, the region had a population of 85
000 inhabitants, 32 000 of whom are over 60 years of age.
The
coronavirus pandemic is the greatest challenge, which the hospital in
Vidin has been facing, and it seems that they are not able to cope
alone.
Doctors and nurses do not have enough masks, equipment,
and other medical supplies.
There are only five beds for coronavirus
infected patients in the hospital
and also lack of ventilators needed. This is extremely insufficient
to allow the severe case of coronavirus to be able to receive the
necessary life-saving treatment.
