Support for refugees arriving in Lesbos Greece

I am going to Lesbos Greece between 13 December and Jan 5th to help in whatever way I can with the refugee crisis. I will start off in a warehouse in a Greek run community, Pipka, and then see what is needed and where I can best use my talents. Lesbos has had hundreds of people arriving by sea in inflatables from Turkey each week .There is no NGO organisation coordinating support and relief on the island. Many people from Europe have gone on thier own innitiative to help people from the boats and sea.The people fleeing Syria and other harsh places are welcomed and cared for , suported to get across the island and get to the processing camp. Children need people to play with and make them laugh , I intend to take pens crayons and paper,a few games like dominoes, and lots of socks, as these are sorely needed! I cant take much with me because of luggage restricitons. I am raising money to help me get there, £300, and money to buy things needed there, waterproofs, space blankets,warm clothes medicines etc, taking the advice of those already there of what is needed.

I decided to go a few weeks ago,realising it would be the best thing I could do over Christmas and New year. Reaching out to people in distressing times is something we can do, doing nothing seems so wrong.The time is almost upon me now and if you would like to support this innitiative with any amount it would be fantsatic to be able to share our good fortune with people who could really do with some loving kindness on thier journey from war, terror,oppression and desperate economic reality.
