I am Maynard. I'm the elder brother of Kristine. She's my younger sister from our mother's side.
I was with her from the time she was born.
She is suffering from an uncontrolled Erythrodermic Psoriasis for two years now. Because of her condition, she is unable to function like any normal kid (she just turned 19 but for me, she's still a kid).
Her psoriasis is triggered whenever she has an infection - even a simple cough or cold. We have already tried different medications (Methotrexate, Ciclosporin, Acitretin) to control her illness but every time she has infection or hormonal imbalance, her psoriasis will act up.
Two weeks ago, she got hospitalized because of Edema and fever. The pain that she's experiencing due to the pustules makes it even harder for her to move or rest thereby making her condition worse.
As his brother, it's really painful for me to see her like this. All we wish is for her condition to become normal and controlled.
Right now, she is confined again. She collapsed yesterday because of low blood pressure. At the hospital, she said that "my skin hurts a lot. Everything hurts..." What's more painful is that we can't do anything about it because of limited resources.
She can try another type of medicine (biologics) but her doctor said it will cost a fortune.
We would like to reach out to anyone who can help us because we want to give it a shot if this can help her condition to become better. We are knocking on your kind hearts... Please help my sister be with us again.
I appreciate your time and effort in reading this. She's currently confined at the Research Institute for Topical Medicine in Muntinlupa, Philippines.
