We are running a USD campaign as well but it has now been broad to our attention that some friends from our own country, South Africa, are having problems to make donations in other currencies than ZAR. For that reason we are now opening this campaign as well.

UPDATED

(WE ARE WILLING TO PRESENT MEDICAL RECORDS AND REPORTS AS PROOF OF MY WIFE'S CONDITION, SHOULD ANY DONORS REQUEST US TO DO SO.)

My wife, Lydia, is suffering from unbearable nerve pains all over her body, 24 hours a day. This started as a pain in her one leg in May 2016. Her condition quickly deteriorated and since November 2016 she became functionally impaired and is now bounded in a wheelchair. At one stage, she also lost control over her bladder and sometimes needs to be fed and dressed.

Initially, the state hospital diagnosed her with Motor Neuron Disease (MND) but later simply changed it to “conversion disorder.”

On top of it all, our 18 year old daughter was diagnosed with bone cancer and needed to be taken to a state hospital 130km from where we live, many a times, until she was finally operated in August 2017.

The donations we received thus far have now enabled us to visit a very good private neurologist who finally diagnosed her with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). Medication and especially treatment is however very expensive as it includes regular visits to a psychiatrist and a physiotherapist.

Lydia is only 37 years old and I pray and humbly ask for assistance. She is an amazing person, but being clustered in a bed between four walls, with constant pain is just getting too much for her to handle.
