Luis Moux is an 18 year old Honor Roll student and a Center/Guard on his school's football team. Luis travels to Brooklyn from the Bronx every day to attend school and in-spite of the long commute has perfect attendance. This young mans life only revolves around school, football and his mother.
On Monday August 14th at around 4:30 AM, Luis awoke to the sounds of his mother being assaulted by her ex-boyfriend— Stanley Washington—who had been arrested twice for assaulting her in the past. Luis, like any son, defended his mother from her attacker, when Luis realized that Mr. Washington was unconscious he called 911. He was taken to a local hospital and was later pronounced dead.
Luis is being charged for the murder of his mother's abuser, however he was just protecting his mothers life. He is a good young man who has never broken the norms of society and who is loved by his family, teammates, friends, teachers, and school administrators.
Luis should not have to worry about the possibility of being incarcerated, he should be preparing for his return to school for senior year, and researching potential scholarships opportunities for college. Moreover, Luis and his mother are now displaced, due to the fact that the apartment is a crime scene and even after it is released they will not be able to return to their home because of the events which occurred.
We need your support in this difficult time, no contribution is to small, any and all help will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go towards helping Luis living expenses, medical bills and without a doubt much needed therapy due to this traumatic experience. All monies exceeding the goal amount will be used for Luis's college tuition.
We would like to thank you in advance for your generosity and support.

  • My heart goes out to Luis and his mom. He deserves a reward, not punishment. He did the right thing and should be very proud of himself. I hope the court system will do the right thing by him too.

  • This is horribly unfair. I truly hope justice is served in this case, but it will still not be enough to restore this young man's life and future. This is unfair on so many levels.
