Support Families of Guimaras Sea Tragedy

Three (3) Passenger Boats in the Iloilo-Guimaras Strait capsized yesterday, August 3, 2019 due to strong winds and huge waves.

Rescuers are now scrambling to locate at least 5 missing passengers of three boats, even as the death toll rose to 26 early Sunday morning.

At least 55 passengers were rescued as of 7:30 a.m. Sunday, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in Western Visayas.

The survivors lost every single one of their belongings with no insurance, but a majority of them now are recovering in different hospitals in Iloilo and Guimaras.

This tragedy has devastated the families of the victims and the Ilonggo and Guimarasnon community. Please consider making a monetary donation to help the families with unplanned funeral expenses and funds to help them with the loss of their loved ones and all belongings.
