Christina is our family and she was recently involved a hate crime in the Philadelphia SEPTA subway while coming home from school. She was a passenger on the subway when a group of students were lashing out at a few fellow Asian American students. Christina tried to stop the fight, but moments later became the victim to a brutal beating.

Christina was recently released from the hospital and we are doing our best to help her recover as quickly as possible. She will also be receiving mental support from a therapist.

As her family, we will continue to campaign against Asian hate crimes in the school district of Philadelphia. In addition, we are actively advocating for the safety of school students when taking public transportation.

Christina's wish is that students, regardless of race, can be safe outside of their homes. There should not be a recurrence of this incident to emphasize that there needs to be better public safety in our city. We would like to invite you to help Christina with her physical and mental recovery, but more importantly, to help us advocate for the city's public safety.

Thank you for your support,

Christina's Family
