Hello friends, I am Sasa, founder of Cats, my friends on paws-CatsRescue. It is now May 2020 and I decided out of desperation to start this campaign...My friends, total expenses are just way too much for me, well over 1000 euros per month, vet debt usually between 2000 and 3000 euros...and there is so much work.

Animal rights and laws here in Croatia are on pretty poor level. On paper some laws exist but in reality is horiffic.

Which is why local groups like my group are trying to make a difference. We have no help from the State at all. We depend on our own resources and your donations and there are hundreds and hundreds (really thousands) of cats and kittens that need help in this area. We are sacrificing everything for them, we basically have no personal lives. This is 365 days a year dedication.

There is no any city shelter, there is no animal ER, no TNR program by city... there is nothing. People call me. We have to TNR and foster and go out answering tips and find homes and feed and take to vet... We do it all. No choice. Unfortunately this country is long way from civilized when it comes to animals.

So please consider donating to fight hunger, neglect, to improve health care, to neuter, spay and vaccinate, for vet bills... Shelter upgrade details below at the end.

My personal story? I ve started saving cats and kittens 7 years ago. Now I have cats in house, some will stay, some waiting for adoption (that frees up space for new), there are dozens and dozens in outside shelters and there are hundreds of street cats I take care for.

Feeding, healthcare, vet, vaccination, neuter-spay program...in what extent all depends on available financial resources. Which is why I created this campaign. What we want to do and what is needed to do is much greater than we are doing right now.

One thing I learn is that the only long term solution is to neuter-spay on a massive scale. Here we have numerous cats and kittens outside, thousands, they are everywhere. People here throw kittens in dumpsters, in sea, leave alone in woods, kittens die in car engines, poison cats and kittens...

That is why mass neuter-spay program is critical.

All I do, all we do, all every cat lover here does is almost meaningless without mass castrations.

Yes, we have tremendous expenses in food and vet bills but all that because of so many cats and kittens.

35 euros is enough to spay one female. 28 euros to neuter one male.

Also there is ambition/plan to create one big shelter instead of several smaller which would help a lot and decrease certain expenses. If campaign starts having success and one unified shelter becomes reality, I will post all the needed details in the Update section.
