Support Brody’s Battle to Recovery

Hello all! I know everyone has been patiently waiting on a update about Brody. He is doing very well! It's amazing how much has changed and how much he is progressed in the last two weeks since he was in kitchener grand-river.
Brody is fully aware of everything that is around, he is able to speak, but still not much movement in his right side.
Brody speech as defiantly improved last that I updated he was only able to speak about 20 words. Now, he is able to say almost every word you tell him to, the only difficulty Brody has is trouble forming sentences, and saying the words he wants to In the proper order. He sometimes get confused, and it's hard for him to communicate.

Brody still does not have much movement on his right side, although it is getting stronger. He is able to stand up, and able to bend his right knee a bit. And also can sometimes lift his right leg up a little bit. Brody is learning very much right now while here and Guelph, and is on the right path to his recovery. Although after Guelph, Brody will be returning to Hamilton for another rehab program. It is crazy to see how much Brody has improved in the last two weeks since he has been here. Although Brody does get frustrated because he can't say what he wants to, and although he gets tired from physio he is still so very determined to keep pushing and going forward.

Today we went back to Hamilton, to meet with the doctors who had done Brody's surgery. We were able to get more information on what had happened to Brody.
Brody had abnormal small vessels in his brain which was the cause of the bleeding. They do not what caused the abnormal small vessels, and they said we probably will never know.
Brody will be getting the bone put back in place In the next couple of weeks! They said it could take 8-12 weeks, but nevertheless it will be out back smile emoticon
So all in all, Brody is making great progress day by day. Thank you all for reading my updates and for everyone kinds words. Keep praying ??

Sorry everyone! I missed this update from Britt

Sept 17, 2015

Brody has been moved to Guelph to a rehabilitation Center as some of you already know. Brody is make progress and they are working with him everyday on his strength on his right side as well on his speech. He seems to be making progress each day, little by little. They had Brody in his wheel chair today, and he can move the wheel with his left hand, and steer with his left leg. He did very well for his first time attempting this! Brody tries to form some sentences, but does get a little frustrated at times because he can not finish. But as I said, he is making progress each day! ??

Hello! Brody is doing really good. Still is on a few medications, but no more IV for him! Staples got taken out yesterday as well, Brody tried to say a few words like -yes, no, and ok. And now answers questions to the best of his ability with a thumbs up. He is starting to eat food now! Although it doesn't look the best, no more feeding tubes! He still has long way to go in his recovery. However Brody has come such a long way since the incident just over two weeks ago. We can not thank everyone enough again for all your kind words, love, support and donations. We truly have an amazing support team, so again thank you and keep praying ??

Hello everyone, Brody had a good day today. Brody was put into a wheelchair today for a bit, as well helped assist the nurse today put on his socks and pants ( lifting his leg for them ) he seems very aware of his surrounding as well very good with commands. He still isn't moving his right side but seems to be trying to say a few simple words like yes and no. They are still hard to understand and it's not always but it is something! I had him smile and rolling his eyes at me today. ( apparently he doesn't like that he has Justin beiber hair! Haha ) Lol Brody has now moved again today into a room by himself. They feel that he is doing well, and he is very stable. Which also means..... He will be moving back to kitchener within the next few days hopefully! Not sure how visiting works there, but will update everyone when I know more.

Hello everyone, Brody is doing well today. They have been able to remove his breathing tube, and is able to breath on his own so far! He is very agitated today, so the nurses recommending no one see him today, including his family. So unfortunately no one has been able to see him today. But nurses say he's doing well. He has not spoken yet so not sure what to expect as far as if he's able to talk or how much it has effected his speech, but another good day for Brody! Keep strong and keep praying ??

Brody today had another calm day, he was pretty sedated most of the day. However, did good with all commands the nurse had asked him throughout the day. If all goes well through the night and tomorrow morning. Brody will hopefully be getting him breathing tube out sometime tomorrow. Nurses and doctors say Brody is making progress to his long road of recovery. If all goes well tomorrow this will be one big step forward! Keep prayer ??

Today started off pretty calm. Brody was awake for awhile and was pretty calm for the most part. He got a little more restless so the nurses gave him a bit more sedation to calm him down, and let him sleep for a bit. As we were saying goodnight the doctors came in to check on Brody. And the nurse told them that Brody followed 4 commands in a row without hesitation! He was able to give a thumbs up, give two fingers up. He was able to squeeze her hand then squeeze it harder when she asked! Little by little!
At this point Brody may not be able to do this every day, and is not always consistent each day. But hear that is always good news! Keep praying ??

I was so saddened to hear of your struggles Brody. You are, however, a very resilient and strong young man and these qualities will certainly aid in your road to recovery. You have the support of people who love you and a strong family bond that is, and will be, priceless in your recovery as well. I'm praying for you Brody and for your family. Hope to see you soon. Love, Mrs. Fee xoxox

Thanking Brittany for the encouraging updates. Hopefully when Brody is moved to Kitchener in the next week or so, things will be a little easier for you all, at least logistically. Wish I lived closer to be of more help though. Keeping you all in my thoughts and sending out best karma to Brody for continued progress. Take care of each other.
