My name is Anh, from San Jose, California, a former LVN and Incident Commander, who was recently discharged and is currently a student of FEMA. I am not a doctor however, so here to raise funds to get doctor’s surgical critical care for our beloved Shih Tzu - Bella - our only experience of maternal love, our closest relationship, our best friend, our only emotional support, and the only one thing left from our dead Mom - Judy as a way of keeping her with us. Judy passed away in 2016 due to cancer a year after our step Dad died of pneumonia, the only one thing she had left behind to give us to take care is Bella.
Bella does not live as long as us human beings, but the impact that she makes on us, other people and their families lasts a lifetime. Bella does not need much; just love and a simple life, but right now we and Bella are in dire need of your help.
Bella has been diagnosed with brain and spinal cord damage and is required to have Craniotomy surgery within 24 - 48 hours.
Bella was brought in Silicon Valley Veterinary Specialists Emergency Care on early morning of May 14, 2019, the veterinarian placed her under critical care and hospitalization level 2 for Lab work, Radiographs, Oxygen Cage, IV fluids, IV drugs, Eye diagnostics etc. for several charges of $1,226 plus $3,544.08 plus $3,036.10. Another $1,298.00 per day after 48 hours to one week of treatment. And $4,619.18 for MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) to examine her soft tissue structures in the brain and spinal cord. And now the neurologist required Bella to have a Craniotomy surgery within 24 - 48 hours due to the inflammation in her brain and spinal cord etc.
Having to undergo such a severe damage and now surgery, is physically hard on Bella’s tiny body, but more worrisome, is how we would be able to pay for a surgery that costs 16,066.52, and another $4,090.94 for CSF, etc. Bella is going downhill so fast, she seemed to be getting worse from when we brought her to the hospital, unable to walk or lift her body, listless, moaning in pain, not eating, she’s depending on pain medicines, antibiotics, typically Mannitol to lower increased intracranial pressure. But Bella is young and strong so the vet doctors believe that her brain will recover if she gets this surgery, and we would need to do it within the next 24 - 48 hours for her to survive normally.
We have also been advised that if Bella can make it after surgery, the total costs will be added more for extra drugs, fluids, injections, miscellaneous upon check out beside the hospitalization fees, not to mention, future treatments for training to bring her back to normal will also be needed.
But the doctors need payments now, and we just need some help to enable us to make this for Bella. Unfortunately, I’ve recently been discharged from my job for notifying my boss for violating the CA employment law, but while I’m still looking for a job, the total cost for emergency care plus surgery is still unattainable for us. But how we hope and pray that Bella would bounce back in time like she always has, and be the most loving and caring dog we have ever been with, we are asking for any help from family, friends and fellow animal lovers out there for your kindness to save Bella in her most difficult time right now, and that you give us your support to help her survive and to make us fulfill the last wish of our dead Mom to take care of Bella for her.
Because time is so crucial for Bella’s critical condition, I had no choice to put the total medical bills of $17,764.3 on several of my credit cards including Credit Care card, just to keep Bella under 24/7 critical support care in the hospital, to have her MRI and other exams done while we try to raise some money. But now, another $16,066.52 is adding more to our debt is simply unbearable for us. I’m not even sure at this point how to pay our next month's rent and car payments either.
So please help us in anyway you can while we are still facing these difficulties. Bella is truly a special dog, she was born in September 11 for a reason, with the strong carefree spirit and unconditional love, Bella has taught us everyday that life is short and there is no time for hate. Bella is naturally amazing at cheering up everyone around her when they are feeling down and giving them a laugh when they need one. Bella never carries grudges or hates, greed or deceit, evil or jealousy, except to give off unconditional love to all around her, and to be loved. Being a tiny self, she will still do anything to protect me when I’m out with her alone. Bella makes our lives whole and is always there for us regardless of our flaws.
Bella is here because I believe God's love has no boundaries and wants to tell us that the love that we share with Bella is unlike any other love in the world, because God has a great sense of humor and wants us to laugh and enjoy life, because God cares and wants us to be stronger through tough times, and because God protects and wants to tell us that the true friendship and companionship does exist.
We're heartbroken to learn that Bella is going through this traumatic experience, how long must we wait to be with the wonderful self of Bella again? It hurts so much! We don’t want to see her leaving home, let alone for good....
Bella is very important to us, we can’t stop crying thinking about her for these past 3 days. The house is so sad and empty without her. We have never come home and she wasn't there. Being here all alone without her really gives us a sense of emptiness... and we honestly don't know how to deal with it right now....
But we believe you can make a positive change in our lives. Please help save this loving little lion and bring us back with Bella. Thank you so much for taking the time to consider donating. Any donated money is only to pay for Bella’s above hospital and surgery costs. We and Bella would be eternally grateful to you. With love and gratitude.
