Support Anna for her Fight against the Big C!

Please help one of my best friend to fight against Cervical Cancer.

03 Dec 2017 was when it all started. She was rushed to the emergency room in one of the hospitals in UAE for severe abdominal pain and bleeding. Following several tests and scans, the diagnosis was ruptured cyst in one of her fallopian tubes. However, after a week she was asked to do a blood test for tumor markers (CA 19 and CA 125). The CA 125 result was three times the normal range.

She took a second opinion from another doctor in January 2018. At that time, she was assured that it was not yet a cause for alarm. Due to some personal important matters that she needed to attend to, she put this aside for a moment. Unfortunately she lost her job on March 2018 which just further delayed her supposed visits to the doctor as she no longer has any medical insurance. She was already having abnormal bleeding daily since early 2018. So as soon as she got confirmed for a new job in August 2018, she prioritized the visit to her 2nd doctor.

Another set of blood tests and scans were done. Then she was set to do a surgery removing my fallopian tube via laparoscopy in December 2018. Prior to this, she had to do finalize her smear test which was somehow impossible after few attempts because she would be in pain and bleed immediately after the instrument was inserted. Due to this and after checking her cervix thoroughly, she was referred to another doctor to do a colposcopy (biopsy).

The result of the biopsy did not come out favorable for her. She was then referred to a Gynae-Oncologist. Instead of doing the surgery for her fallopian, she underwent an operation removing the cancerous part of her cervix (Cold Knife Conization) in February 2019. Two weeks after the operation, she was advised that not all the cancer tissues were removed during the operation. She had to do MRI and CT scans to determine where the cancer has penetrated and if there are any other lesions present.

By the 7th of March 2019, she was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. As a result of the multidisciplinary team meeting, she must undergo another surgery removing her uterus, fallopian tube, lymph nodes (surrounding the reproductive area) and transposition her ovaries. Then she will be needing chemo and radio therapies, frequency and intensity will be dependent on the result of the biopsy from the operation.

Her medical insurance is not covering her previous and any upcoming treatments related to cancer. We are trying all possible resources to arrange the money for her treatment and the huge amount of money is really beyond our means and reach. Your kind support can really help save her life and she will be very grateful for any amount of help you can extend for her.
