My husband and I want to help Ziad, a refugee from Syria, further his education. Before he fled Damascus, Ziad was a graduate student in English literature. Here in the UK, we are helping him enroll in a law conversion course so that he can become a lawyer.

Shooting for September 2017 GDL start at City
Update posted by Sophie Roell at 11:58 amUnfortunately, Ziad did not meet requirements to start at City this September. While he got the 7.5 he needed overall in his IELTS (English test for foreign students), he did not meet the criterion on the writing part of the test, which was 6.5: he only got 6. Will keep you posted as he sends in his acceptance letter and goes through the

If anyone else wants to make a small donation so he doesn't have to take out quite as a big a student loan, that would be amazing. (NB
