A Day in the Darkness

This is a Dance and Music Performance for visually impaired and fully sighted audience, that will happen for the first time on the 24^th of October, Tilburg, Netherlands.

We do not really understand the importance of a sense, until we lose it. By far, the most important sense is the sight, and we perceive 80% of all impressions by means of our sight.

Dance world has never been accessible to people with visual impairment and with this performance we want to make this possible. We also want fully sighted audience to experience how it feels to attend a dance performance with closed eyes. We aim to open a dialogue between people with and without visual impairment.

Daniel Everett says:

"New information is hard to come by if you sit in a room with people who look just like you, who are your gender, who are your age, your economic background. The chances of getting really new information are minimal because everybody already agrees. Often that's the way we think until somebody forces us to think differently."

We kindly ask you to help us to realize this performance and start this circle of building a community of understanding and accepting each other. Specifically, this project needs this extra support so as to be able to pay 500e for renting the rehearsal space and 500e for renting the performance space.
