Hello! My name is Kirill. I am an engineer and have already been doing for several years the one intresting design. I am developing a new type of propulsion system - a supercharged sail that can used on a river and sea vessels.
For what it's needed? When a supercharged sail used together with a marine screw, it will significantly increase the maneuverability of the vessel, as well as its efficiency, thanks to the use of the power of the wind and the energy of the spent exhaust gases to drive a turbocharger of sail. Installing a sail reduces fuel consumption.
Structurally, the sail is a compound column with installed inside air receiver and injector pipes extending from it. In front of the sail there is a steerable deflector that covers the outlet orifices of the injector pipes. The sail turns against the direction of the wind. Turbocharger supply compressed air inside the receiver. When the deflector is opened, compressed air exits through the injector pipes outward and begins to flow with tremendous speed along the side walls of the sail through air slit formed by the deflector. In consequence of the effects of wind and compressed air, at the front of the sail arise the reduced pressure region. Due to the pressure difference between the front and back sides, the sail begins to move forward. That is the sail works on the principle of an air wing, propelled by the force resulting from the pressure difference. And the pressure difference is created by the turbocharger and the wind.
In theory, owing to the use of compressed air, this design has increased efficiency compared to other designs.

Having completed the design of the appearance and geometry, I am starting the next stage of development and concept checking - making a working model of the supercharged sail. Unfortunately, I don't have enough own funds to made it even on a smaller size. Procurement of materials, fabrication, assembly, testing and further development will require significant capital.
