Summer’s IPad Fund

WHO IS SUMMER

Summer is a beautiful 6 year old that was born with Spina Bifida (an opening in her spine). She is paralyzed from the waist down. Summer is funny and spunky! She loves all the same things other 6 year olds love. She loves her mom, dad and little sister, Sadie! Summer plays t-ball, church activities and goes to school. Summer is having surgery on January 7th at Children's Hospital of Atlanta. She is having a bladder augentation, MACE procedure and Mitroffanoff. These are surgeries to help her manage her bladder and bowel for the rest of her life. Summer's recovery will take a couple of months and it will be hard to keep a 6 year old still, happy and entertained!

WHO IS SUMMER'S MOM

Summer's mom, Cheryl is amazing. She has instilled a sense of confidence, humor and joy in her little girl that is inspiring! Cheryl often helps other parents with children born with Spina Bifida. She helps us fill out paperwork, gives love and support when needed, arranges arts and crafts for our family events and makes and sells cheescakes each year to raise money for the Spina Bifida Association of Georgia. She also works part time as a parent educator for Babies Can't Wait. She is a light in her community and as her friend, I would like for our community to do something for her family in return.

Because there is no better gift at Christmas time than to give to others. Give because you care and you want to bring joy to Summer this Christmas. Give because it will help ease their fears and bring them happiness as they prepare for major surgery. Any amount is appreciated and every penny will go to the Barnes family for the purchase of an iPad for Summer. Any amount raised over the $499 purchase an iPad will be given to the family to buy a protective cover for the iPad and for iTunes gift cards to purchase apps to keep Summer busy and entertained.
