Over the past year, I have been involved in a Christian group on my university campus called Student Life. This ministry is found on campuses all throughout Australia.
We are a group that is passionate about meeting new students and giving them the opportunity to find out more about Christianity. Joining Student life has been an exciting experience for me, developing my relationship with God throughout my adolescent years and being equipped with the right resources and tools to reach out to people on campus.
Student Life sets up many conferences and events throughout the year to engage with university students across Australia. In fact this summer, I have an exciting opportunity to take part in going to the SummerSalt Byron Bay, a Summer Project that Student Life runs each year. As tourists, holiday goers and Queensland and New South Wales schoolies head to Byron Bay to party over two weeks (Saturday 22 November – Saturday 6 December), we want to be there to work alongside the Red Frogs and local churches to provide support as well as the opportunity to discover more about Christianity. It is so important now more than ever to reach out to these young people who are at a point in their lives where they need direction with their career choices, education/apprenticeship options and the overall course of their life, they are generally also more open to receiveing God especially after the hype and enthusiaism of partying begins to wear off.
In order for me to attend this awesome two week outreach ministry, I need people who would be willing to partner with me in both prayer and giving financially. My total financial requirement is $1750. This money goes towards flights, food, accommodation and any other resources. I require $600 by Friday 17th of October 2014 and the full balance by Friday 7th of November 2014. In order to raise this, I am looking for people who are able to give whatever amount they are able to provide.
As I am raising support for the Project any funds above what I personally need will go towards helping other students get to Byron Bay. I am offering this invitation for you to support me so I can continue in my journey with God to learn how to become more effective in sharing my faith and discipleship. If you can help me by partnering with me, I would be so grateful for your generosity and support. However, I completely understand that many people have other financial commitments, so please don’t feel obliged to say yes. I would also just like to ask for your constant prayers, having people pray dilligently during this journey for myself and the Byron Bay team is so important, pray that we be able to raise the funds, and have the courage and stamina to evangelise effectively. Please feel free to message me for further information.
