Summer Internship Funding

Greetings!

I was recently offered two great opportunities (but will only accept one) to intern this summer. I have the option to either work with Death Row inmates in Missouri and the surrounding states or practice environmental law in DC. Unfortunately, both of these amazing opportunities are unpaid. The organizations that are hosting these internships are non-profits and often scrape by using unpaid legal interns to provide legal representation to litigants. Despite the economic challenges that relocating presents, I firmly believe that the experience I will gain as a legal practioner, and the support I would be giving to a great cause, will justify my desire to accept a public interest legal position.

As much as I would like to be of service this summer, there are housing, transportation and living expenses that much be covered for 10 weeks. Depending on how much I can save, will ultimately determine where I will intern. If I decide to accept the DC position, I would really like to meet my goal because of the cost of living in the area. If I don't meet my goal, then Missouri may or may not be affordable. Nevertheless, it would be great if I had a little help on the way to reach my goal. Thank you for reading my page!
