Campaign Story
This summer I will be participating in Grace Fellowship Churches' Summer Discipleship Project in Myrtle Beach, SC. It is essentially a summer program that allows groups of 5 guys or 5 girls to live together, work together, and get to know each other throughout the summer. This is also a time for us to be able to get away from the routine and grind of the city to pour into each other and find time to grow in our relationship with God and the people we work with.
I have been asked and invited to be a leader for this trip. I met with the lead pastor who has been a spearhead for this event and it has been such a success in the past couple of years! I cannot wait to see how God is going to use me and develop me into a spiritual leader for these guys. The most important part in this project is that we are able to break through barriers and get to really know each other's hearts in this 9 week period.
The trip runs from June 1st until August 4th and it will be a time of tremendous growth in the realm of community and fellowship in the presence of Christ. And it gives us an opportunity to be a light in area that we work whether that is at the movie theater, chick-fil-a, or the water park. I am really asking everyone to pray for me as I take on this role and as I believe it is preparation for my possible move to D.C. after the summer ends. I believe God is calling me to lead a house church up at the University of Maryland in College Park.
I am also asking for financial assistance for this trip seeing as it is very expensive! And I am a poor college student living off of noodles, rice, and scrounging in my parent's food pantry every weekend for food to take to school with me! I ask that if you feel led to provide money for this please follow the link below to donate. I am looking to raise $1500.00 dollars since that is the minimum amount I would need to attend and I could pay off the rest as I work towards the summer. However, I would love to reach my goal of $3000.00 by June 1st Lord willing. I am very excited about this opportunity and can’t wait to see what’s in store!
