Hello everyone, My name is Jay Padilla and I have been stung with a dream. My earliest years began on a grape farm in Central California helping my grandfather carry crates of grapes from the fields. He unfortunately died when I was 7 years old and was unable to pass on his vast knowledge of farming the fertile lands. I grew up in the City, but always had a yearning to go back to what I consider a great art of farming. My dream is to get back to farming and start a honey bee farm. I have tried a few times to purchase land to start my dream but have not been able to qualify for a loan, because of the required down payment. This dream does not come from trying to become rich, famous, or self glory. This dream comes from my roots of farmers and wanting to help bring back the honey bee population. The dwindling of the honey bee population is a serious problem. So I am asking for donations to help start my bee keeping business. I have found a piece of land in Michigan for $60,000. This area would be perfect to start the farm. Michigan is one of the five state that has had a tremendous amount of bee loss. The USDA has allocated grants for bee keepers, to help get the production of honey bees back up. With the money from your donations, my retirement, and possibly grants, I can get the operation started. My wife and I both believe in giving and helping. I work in the public sector and my wife works in the medical field. We both have selfless jobs helping others. We both donate blood a few times a year. I have donated two cars to Kars4kids. We always give when we can, if it's change from our pockets, time at our children's schools, or walking for the march of dimes we are always doing what we can. Now I guess, that I am hoping that there are more people like us willing to give for a great cause. Thanks for you time, it is appreciated.
