Studying Abroad in China!

Hi! My name is Gianna and I plan to study abroad in China after graduation. Im currently a senior in highschool and I graduate at the end of May. My original goal in life after highschool was to go to culinary school to pursue a career in baking and pastry. When the opportunity to go to China was made available I just couldnt pass it up! I plan to go to China and study basic Mandarin for one semester and possibly Chinese cuisine for another semester. The duration of my trip is 1 year and then i'll return home and enroll in school. The fact that I studied abroad for a year would look really good on an application for school or on a resume for a job! 

I work part time at Medieval Times in Maryland. I also play the flute in the Wind Ensemble for my high school as well as Tenor Saxophone in the jazz band. 

My parents have always taught me to be independant and responsible. Ive been working with them and they've been helping me save to reach my goal. Here is just a rough layout of the funds needed to make my dream a reality!

1. Plane ticket from New york to Kunming, China : $1500

2. I year of study in Ten West Chinese Language school: $1600

3. Passport: $140

4. Student Visa: $150

5. Extra expenses (luggage, money to have when i get there): $500
