Study Psychology and Social Work

Hello, I am Esmeralda from the Netherlands. I'm 21 years old and since 1 year I'm living with my uncle, aunt and two cousins. I moved over to my aunt because there was no way to live at home. My parents divorced 11 years ago. Since then I rarely speak with my mother. After the divorce I continued to live with my father, in 2006 my father remarried and we moved in with his new wife and her children. I've never felt welcome in this family and my stepmother and stepsisters never accepted me. For 7 years I was mentally abused by my father, stepmother and stepsisters. I've been depressed since I was 14 and last year I couldn't take it any more. I moved to my aunt as a precaution. I followed intensive psycho therapy and trauma therapy. Since a few months I'm declared healed. After the therapy I can look to the future, I've been thinking about it a lot and I've decided I want to go back to school. I want to study for a bachelor degree in Psychology and Social Work. I want to help young people who have problems with themselves, drug addiction, alcohol addiction, runaways and so on. Unfortunately I can not rely on both parents for financial support, nor other relatives. With the salary I earn there is no chance to save money, partly because I still have to pay medical bills for the therapy and medications that I have received. I can't save enough money to pay for my tuiton and books for upcoming schoolyear Why do I need your help? I am ambitious. I have a warm and welcoming heart and possess a dose of empathy and analytical skills. I love to help people and to put a smile on their face. I think it's important that people are happy because I know how it is to fall into a deep dark hole where you can feel very alone.I know I can help people, understand them, motivate and support them.
