Study Abroad for a Future of Healing

Hello. My name is Laura Covey and I currently study Physiology as a pre-medical major at the University of Arizona. Ever since I was little I have wanted to help people and what better way to do that through medicine. After attending and graduating from medical school I plan on moving to a third world country in order to help those who could never afford medical expenses. I have traveled to parts of Mexico where I have interacted firsthand with these types of families that work hard to make every penny they can to feed their children and send them to school while living in these tin and wood structures with dirt floors that they call home. It's heartbreaking to think that these families do not have access to the basics of medicine which we take for granted without even realizing it. I hope to study abroad in a country where I can become involved in these communities and help out as much as possible. I have not yet decided on which nation I hope to attend but it will be one that I can offer the most help to. I need your help to help those in third world countries that need our help so dearly.
