The Basics

I'm looking to raise money to fund my study abroad in Kobe, Japan.  The money will be used for travel expenses (I'm still recovering from looking up flight costs) and the program fee.  You wouldn't be funding a vacation, I will be attending classes daily at Kobe Shoin Women's University.

Here's information on the program directly from OSU for those that would like a good read:

Program

The Japanese Language and Culture at Kobe Shoin Program is a four-week language and culture program offered at the Shoin Daigaku Kaikan (Japan Study Center) in Kobe, Japan during May Session 2013. This program is offered as a collaborative effort between the Ohio State Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures and Kobe Shoin Women's University in Kobe, Japan.

Locations

Kobe lies nestled between the coast and the Rokko Mountains. Kobe is relatively close to both Osaka and Kyoto and is a large and important port city in its own right.

Classes will be held at the Shoin Daigaku Kaikan and Kobe Shoin Women's University which are located about one-half hour west of Osaka. Shoin Daigaku Kaikan is about fifteen minutes from the main campus of Kobe Shoin Women's University by public transportation.

Courses and Credits

Students will receive academic credit for East Asian Language and Literatures 5797: Study at a foreign institution (Japanese Language and Culture), which is a four-week language and culture course (3 credits) include various activities such as field trips, service learning and a research project. This 3 credit course can satisfy one of the major requirement courses.

Accommodations

Students will be housed in single rooms at the Shoin Daigaku Kaikan. Students can eat at outside restaurants and/or prepare their own meals at the Kaikan kitchen facilities.

Program Costs

Students are responsible for paying The Ohio State University tuition plus a $1,154 program fee. The program fee includes accommodations, excursions, in-country instruction and supplemental insurance. It does not cover international airfare or meals.
