I am currently a member of the non-profit organization Students Helping Honduras (SHH). This organization seeks to improve the conditions in remote, poverty stricken areas by building schools. SHH was created by students and continues to put enormous faith in our ability to do great sustainable work. The organization has built twelve schools so far, those of which children of these villages flock to. The greatest contribution that can be provided to help these areas can be done with man power, which is why we, as a group, will be constructing these schools ourselves.

This winter I will travel to El Progresso, Honduras, and volunteer with SHH on one of many eight day service trips. Since SHH is a non-profit organization, each student must pay an estimated $1500 total to participate, in addition to funding their own flight to cover the trip. I am here to raise money to cover the flight of my trip. In addition to paying for the trip I have been collecting donations as well as holding fundraising events in order to fund the purchase of the supplies and resources needed to build these schools.

Together we can make a difference! I believe that all people are deserving of an equal opportunity, and through these schools, we can give these children greater possibilities in life.

Thank you for your contributions, they are greatly appreciated! The children of Honduras thank you as well!
