I am from India, living in Germany at the moment. I come from a lower middle class background but with big dreams. After contemplating for a year to whether I should take the step ahead and study for my Master's (because it was and is incredibly expensive), I decided that it may only be for my better to take the risk and apply for a student loan.
I had never taken a loan before, but studying abroad for my family (which only includes my mother and me) is a huge committment.
My mother has been extremely supportive, always. She has been a single parent to me since I was 15. I am 26 today. This paragraph may sound extremely sentimental, but I truly do everything in life for her. So when I had the desire to study abroad (in Berlin), I wasn't too sure if I should share it with my mother.
But there again, she was supportive there too. She was the one who pushed me to apply and convince me to take up a loan. I have to be honest, the total loan amount is a LOT of money. But I am asking for half, because I at least want to be able to pay off my tuition fee, which would be a huge burden off my chest.
As mentioned, I live in Berlin, Germany and graduated a few months back from the course, which by the way, was my Master's in Documentary and Factual Filmmaking. I am extremely passionate and sincere about my work but unfortunately film students don't really get a real job after their courses, which is something I had known and still taken the risk of.
I am working as a freelancer and a part time job at the moment that is enough for me to go through my daily expenses but definitely not enough to pay off an enormous loan. I request you to be kind. I request you to have the same amount of trust in me, as I have as I am typing this down.
This is for my mother. This is for a better life for the both of us.
Thank you and God bless you.
