Student in need of funds for university fees

I am a third year university student studying Biological sciences at the university of the Witwatersrand. I am majoring in biochemistry and cell biology as well as microbiology. I am currently being partially funded by the NSFAS government fund. However, the fund only provides a section of the amount of the fees and hence leaving me in debt.

My father, who was the breadwinner of the family, passed away 4 years ago from terminal cancer. My mom being unemployed with no work experience and in a ripe old age of almost 50 cannot easily find a job, and relying on grants from the government has to take care of my 3 siblings and I. My sister suffers from Down syndrome and requires many medical checkups and treatments as she mostly gets ill, this takes up most of my moms time as well as taking care of my two younger siblings doing grades 5 and 8.

Obtaining the little money that she does, with so much expenses, my mom does not have much to spare for me for even the bare essentials sometimes, let alone money for my university fees.

Being the first in my family to come to university has been a proud moment for my mom. I am a very hard-working and dedicated student, and I will graduate this year in the hopes of persuing a post graduate degree in microbiology. However, with debt I would not be allowed to graduate, and would also not be allowed to go further with my studies.

I am a determined person and I see my goal through the obstacles. When I start working I want to take over the duty of providing for my family and being the rock that holds everything together. I will definitely donate to needy causes like myself, as i do not want anyone else to face the challenges i have been facing.
