We are young and passionate students from Lasalle College of the Arts working on our 2nd year short film project. We have a very strong drive for producing horror films. However, there are not many associations that are willing to fund such genres.
Our Film Synopsis: A psychological horror film about an only child of a religiously fanatic family finds himself being haunted by mysterious visions while digging a grave for his dead father.
Director's Note :
For many people, the culture that we follow is usually determined by an accident of birth and geography. And for whatever culture we are born into, its guiding principles find itself ingrained in the way we live. Be it the food we eat, or the clothes we are told to wear, we accept it because it is the norm we are brought into.
It is not until a certain age when our own form of independent thinking starts to occur, creating a contemplation of the principles we ourselves have been taught. As we may start to question or challenge some of our own doctrines, we find them sometimes not so easily discarded. Family and community pressure can exert a strong influence or power to maintain the status quo for which you were brought up in and it can be easily overwhelming.
In this short film I plan to direct, I hope to resurface a commonly suppressed sentiment about the everyday man who finds himself caught by this unfortunate accident of birth and geography. Limbo (the title of the short film) is much more than a film which seeks to suggest. It is a film which seeks to declare.
We will be acknowledging our sponsors/donors in our Credits, if requested. Any amount of donation is greatly appreciated by us.
Thank you very much!
