Student Design Studio

I am completing my Master's degree in Collaborative Design, studying how Design Thinking can create innovative solutions for businesses, education, and nonprofits. Currently, I implement Design Thinking in my 6th grade Science and Social Studies classroom. Students help create their own solutions and design projects, and I supply the supplies for projects. This fall, I will begin my third year of using Design Thinking in education, so I now know many things that I could use personally and in the classroom to help yield better, more creative results. Prototyping can be very difficult without proper supplies and materials. This grant would allow me to create a professional design studio to extend student learning, share with the community, and build social-emotional health through collaboration and confidence building.
