I am a married father to 5 beautiful girls. My two oldest are in college, one in Vegas and the other in Omaha. My 20yr old, the one in Omaha, is a published author! Her first book was published at the age of 16. Since then, she has published another 3. My 15yr old is extremely interested in anything that involves animals, especially when it comes to abandoned pets. She wants to be a veterinarian. My 13yr old is really interested in anime. She absolutely loves anything to do with that genre. My youngest is 9. She is really into sports. She plays in league softball every season.
Now for the difficult things. My wife, whom I love dearly, works hard to provide for us. But, she doesn't bring in enough to cover everything. We both have a lot of medications to buy, totaling about $200-$300 per month. She has diabetes and we have to buy insulin each month.
I have been disabled since 2016. During this time, my doctors will not allow me to work at all. This is a hard pill to swallow, especially since we are short each month. I have been battling Social Security for disability benefits since that time. I was diagnosed with a multitude of issues, but a few of them are terrible. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, PTSD, Chronic Pain Syndrome, Adult Onset Seizures and Degenerative Bone Disease. I spend most of my time immobilized. To do anything for long periods, I need my motorized scooter.
Now I need outside help, as my parents have nothing left to give since my father was let go from his employer. With my wife at work, I need rides to and from my physicians. They are an hour away, each way. Our church helps us with volunteers, but they are no longer able to assist since my car broke down. They want to help, but don't really want to put the mileage on their cars. You see, I'm no longer allowed to drive. I am asking for anyone to consider helping us to get the car fixed.
A few weeks ago, the car just stopped driving. The transmission is shot. This is an expense that we just can't afford to pay, especially since I am still fighting to get SS Benefits. I am dependent on other people to get anything done. especially office visits. I have an average of 2 per week. Sometimes taking half the day. Right now, volunteers are using their personal vehicles. This obviously puts a strain on them, both financially and time out of their day. A lot of the times, they have small cars that can't accommodate my scooter.
Thank you everyone, and may God bless you and your family.
from our family to yours
