While caring for my parents for over twenty years, I was missing alot of work and got fired from two jobs as a result. I was relying on my credit cards alot during this time and now I am paying the price. I am self employed, due to not being able to find any work living in a very rural area. I have tried to keep up with the payments, but it has just gotten out of hand. With the lack of work and the interest on the cards I am having a very hard time. These were cards I had before I met my beautiful wife and I feel so bad that I have to put what little money I make towards paying these cards and not able to help her pay the bills. She works seven days a week to pay the bills and I feel like I am such a mooocher. I served my country ( USMC ) and have always been a hard worker. This is really causing alot of tension in our marriage. I love my wife dearly and don't want or believe money should be the reason for divorce. I have never asked for help before in my life but it has gotten to the point where I have no other choice. If I could just get these cards off my back and get a new fresh start I would be forever grateful. I am hoping there are some nice, kind people out there willing to do an act of kindness and help out a veteran. I know that people would say that I should have been more responsible with the cards, but at the time I was dealing with alot of stress being the sole care taker for my parents and was thinking about them, not me. I owe about $15,000 on my cards and any help to try and get them paid off will truly be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read.
