Campaign Story
This is to raise funds for my sister, Rio Manalo who was rushed into the hospital on December 12, 2018 as she complained of headache and dizziness, afterwhich she passed out and was later found out that she had a stroke. She was admitted in the NICU at the Pines City Doctor's Hospital. Prior to her having stroke, Rio is also undergoing dialysis three times a week for three years now due to Stage 5 kidney failure. The diagnosis showed that she had bleeding in her brain stem that has caused some part of her brain to swell. The doctors said that no surgery can be performed regarding this condition. She was given medication to relieve the swelling though it has already affected her system and responses. During her time in the NICU, she has still has to go through dialysis three times a week.
Currently, she is still being cured and had tracheostomy (an opening in the neck in order to place a tube into a person's windpipe. The tube is inserted through a cut in the neck below the vocal cords. This allows air to enter the lungs) as she was also diagnosed with pneumonia. Though she is already out from the NICU, she has to be transferred to a private room until she is fully recovered. She has been in the hospital for 22 days already and apparently, hospital bills have already ballooned; not including medicines and professional fees. Date of discharge is still not certain as of the moment.
She is battling for survival though it is very difficult for us at this moment to produce at least 1.5 million pesos, this, including her kidney transplant. We are seeking help as we would like to extend my sister's life. She is still fighting and has never given up since day 1, though, the doctor said it may be impossible for her to survive but thank God, she is still fighting. Her responses are gradually coming back but not normal as she was before.
We are setting up a goget funding page hoping we can give her the chance to get better. Please help our family to not lose hope and make us all stronger.
We would very much appreciate bank transfer as well.
Thank you very much!

Hello everyone. We would like to thank you all for your donations. Just to give you an update about how Rio is doing, she is still recovering in the hospital and it’s her 32nd day already. Just recently, another procedure was done-PEG ( Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy is a procedure that allows nutritional support for patients who cannot take food orally. Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy involves placement of a tube through the abdominal wall and into the stomach through which nutritional liquids can be infused. We do not have any specific date yet as to when she is going to be discharged so we are still seeking medical assistance for my sister. Please help us share this platform. Thank you very much and God bless you all!
