Strive to Drive my Passion for Music

Well I think the best way to start off is by introducing myself. I am Aaron Brougham-Cook, hi there.

I consider myself a mature, humble and genuine person who thoroughly loves

what I'm passionate about and that is working with music and people.

Before I dive a little bit in to my background and story, it might be best to say why I'm here and why you are reading this. I am looking for help with funding my second year of college, of my 4 year degree which I am working hard to achieve, and I don't plan on stopping there!

I'm currently in my first year of college in Cape Town, studying Sound Engineering at ASE (Academy of Sound Engineering).

Unfortunately in Cape Town, sound engineering is nearly impossible to get any kind of bursary which makes it harder for me to finance my course for the years to come.

I am very hard working and aim only to achieve distinctions and the best possible marks achievable, which even though I juggle a 5 day job from 5pm till 3am and a 5 day college schedule from 9am till 5pm, I've managed to stay on the top of my year at college. I would ideally love to focus only on my studies but life hasn't allowed that for me at the moment, so I continue to push forward and not let it hold me back.

At my college I am a SRC member ( student representative council), allowing me to be even more involved in the college and gaining more experience. I have so far only achieve above 75% for all my subjects and continue to aim higher.

In school before college, I was in the top ten of the school for my last three years, where my main subjects consisted of Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English and Hospitality. I was also nominated an SRC member in my final year at school.

So why am I stuck and in need of help?

Besides the fact that I'm at a private college and that I can not receive any help from the government for my course, I also do not have any financial family support as they live in other countries and are sadly not in a position to help me out as much as they'd wish to.

I happily live here in Cape Town, working hard towards my future in a field which I love and enjoy. I am also a singer/ performer / waiter at Stardust Cape Town / western province Ice Hockey player, and consider myself to be very driven and hard working. I grab any opportunity that comes my way, and I have already got experience in working with sound, people and performing. I'm willing to work and gain as much experience as possible.

I aim to not only finish my degree but also in the future to specialize as a Audio Technological engineer where I can build and design sound equipment, also making me a well knowledgeable Sound engineer.

But on step at a time.
