Street families number is overwhelming in Kenyan capital city Nairobi each passing day. There is not much the government of the day is doing, and with the hard economic times the number increases immensely. As a social worker volunteer i found a need to assist the families by feeding, clothing, counseling, medical camps and empowering them by starting up small businesses. For the young mothers with kids we put a lot of effort to get them shelters and to the persons living with HIV we ensure they have medications and food on daily basis. This i do with other volunteers who has the same calling as me and we have had successful stories so far.
Our biggest challenge is funds because we use our money and sometimes get assistant from well wishers who buys food and clothes. Those street families depends so much on our help and this made me saw the need for requesting for funds to continue touching more lives. Help us touch lives
