Streams In The Desert: A Struggling Family’s Pursuit Of Happiness

This campaign has been set up in an effort to help my family to deal with the struggles in our lives that has been torturing us and has turned our lives upside down.

Seven years ago, me and my wife got happily married and we've been blessed with two beautiful children in the span of Seven years. I used to work in a small travel agency which pays well, however, the tides started to change and so did our lives. A super typhoon named Haiyan (one of the strongest typhoon ever recorded) and a 7.2 magnitude earthquake hit huge parts of our country that made tourism suffer and so did our job. Tourist stopped coming and so was our salary. After that, everything has become difficult and a struggle.To top all that, I was diagnosed with of having an aggressive tumor in my left eye which could blind me permanently.

Things that is worth noting after the tragedies:

1. I lost my job and never had a decent and regular one since.
2. I was diagnosed with a tumor in my left and it could blind me if I don't the immediate surgery that's needed.
3. We weren't able to register our kids (4 and 3 years old) because we do not have the money to do so.
4. We cannot enroll our children to school as well for the same reason.
5. We do not have our own house and lives with relatives. We move from time to time and it's exhausting at times and it's hard for our children too.
6. Often times our electricity gets cut off and it takes days before we can reconnect.
7. We struggle for food sometimes due to not having regular income.

We tried and worked hard to make our lives better but it seems that no matter what we do, we always come short. I'm fortunate and blessed that I have a wife that supports, helps and encourages me in rough times like this. I love my children so much and only wants the best for them like every parent's desire. I was thinking maybe a little assistance from generous and wonderful people can help me and family finally pursue our lives' goal and provide the happiness my children never had ever since they were born.

How will the fund be spent?

1. I will have the necessary eye surgery.
2. Buy a small house which we can call our own and at the same time a temporary shelter for others who doesn't have one like us.
3. Registration of our kids to the government.
4. Future and education of our children.
5. Establish a firm business that can sustain our needs and it will also help others have a job. Job is so few in our country.
6. Finish my studies in computer engineering. I have finished two years and plans to finish it not just to have better opportunities after but so that I will be a good example to my children as well.

Me struggling I can take but thinking about my family and seeing them go through the same situation as I have breaks my heart and makes me desperate. One way in which I am fortunate and blessed is that I am able to make a campaign like this, and I am seizing the opportunity. We have set up this campaign in hope of winning sympathy and enough support from anyone who reads them to make it possible for us to regain some degree of happiness in our lives. I am only a desperate father who will do whatever is necessary to make sure my family is well taken care of. I know a lot of people can relate to that.
