Georgia still has the problem of stray animals. Mostly dogs. Around seven years ago I adopted from street one of my dog. She was abused by my neighbors and if not me will be killed. Now I have my own 6 adopted stray dogs. All I adopted just to save their lives. I started to help other dogs. I am picking dog in need from different parts of Georgia, preparing them for new families, vet checking, vaccinating, sterilizing (Sterilization and vaccination program is generously funded by the https://www.facebook.com/mayhewinternational/ ) and when dog is fully ready to move to new home am trying to find it's forever home. Before moving to new homes they need to be fostered and as I do not have enough space to keep them with me I am fostering them with paid foster family. It is getting really hard to find good families in Georgia as we have more dogs which need homes than people who want to adopt, especially stray, mixed breads.
There is one option to home dogs in Germany. This very good shelter in Germany (Tierschutz Wörrstadt - Hunde suchen ein Zuhause e.V.) is giving Georgian dogs chance to be well homed in Germany. I have sent there few dogs which were homed in a very good families. In Georgia they were simply stray dogs and for months were not able to home them. Pls see below some of their photos.
More photos of my dogs homed in Germany you can see on my FB page.https://www.facebook.com/salome.zhorzholiani.1/
Last summer in one village near Tbilisi me and my friend found mum dog with just born 12 puppies. To leave them there will mean simply to die. We took them with paid foster family. After 2 months we found that mum dog (Bimi) had venereal sarcoma. We did chemo therapy and soon she will be operated. Hope all will be fine with her. 6 of the puppies from 12 were homed in Georgia but others are still for adoption. As time is flying and as bigger they will be as harder will be to find families for them I have option to send them in Germany but it needs funds.
Pls see below photos of some puppies. (Photo was taken after visiting the vet)
Shelter will pay for their transportation cost but I need to cover for Titer test, micro chip, serum making, export documents. As I have now with paid foster family 9 dogs ( 6 puppies, mother dog, male dog which was chained near my workplace and abandoned and one 8 months old male puppy which I found just born in garbage and raised by hand. Pls see below his photo.
Now he looks like this
He is already ready to travel to Germany and am sure the family who will adopt him will be very lucky to have him.
The expanses I have to cover :
Titer test - 45 Euro per dog,
Micro chip - 9 Euro per dog,
Blood Serum making for the titer test - 9 Euro per dog,
Export documentation – 9 Euro per dog.
These are the expenses for all the necessary procedures for Getting from Georgia to Germany for these adorable doggies. Please help me make their lives good and happy! In case of interest and finding out more about this cute creatures feel free to contact me on my Facebook account .
